You can tell a lot about a person by their kids, don’t you think?
As Paul Rarick joins the Consciousness Playground leadership next month as our Manifesting Pioneer, I couldn’t resist sharing a beautiful story about his 8-year-old daughter, Natalie (left, with her dad) because it will give you some clues about Paul.
Last week, Natalie won special recognition for being a top reader in her Grade 3 class. Her reward was to throw a whipped cream pie in the face of her principal… the dream of any school age child.
But when Natalie stepped up, pie in hand, in front of 150 cheering students and her principal, what she did got people talking.
Natalie didn’t throw the pie.
Instead, what she decided to do made every adult take note and every kid watch in amazement.
As the crowd egged her on and the principal waited, Natalie calmly held the pie firmly in her hands.
She walked slowly over to her principal.
And ever so gently, she set the pie down in his lap.
Rather than do what everyone expected of her, Natalie’s respect for her principal inspired her to do something reflective of who she wants to be in the world.
Natalie’s mom Debbie told me, “Natalie chose to not follow the crowd. Instead she did something that felt right to her. She chose to be different.”
Now I ask you, “When you hear about a child with that kind of integrity, aren’t you curious about the environment that nurtured that type of presence in her?”
