$3000 Experiment Wrap-Up Day!

by Wendy Down on April 1, 2015

Today’s wrap- up of The $3000 Experiment has 3 parts.  First, we 4 experiment co-leaders, aka ‘Consciouseers’, share what we’ve learned through this experiment.  Then Janice offers instructions on what to do now with the Transformational Space you set up. And finally, its time to take stock of your results in this experiment.

Over to you first, Janice…

*****

Janice Dietert, $3000 Experiment Co-Leader

Janice Dietert, $3000 Experiment Co-Leader

Consciouseer Janice here. Wow! Can it be possible? Three months have gone by already? But we’ve been having so much fun! And we’ve been watching such amazing things happen! Doesn’t seem possible we’re closing in on the end of such a phenomenal ride.

None of this would be possible without your daring spirits who jumped on board an amazing experiment to bring unexpected money and blessings into your lives. It also would not have been possible without three other amazing facilitators – our Experiment Consciouseers – Ken, Wendy and Rodney. I can honestly say, I’ve never worked with a group of people where ego never raised its head, until I collaborated with these three. There were conversations behind the scenes where not all of our ideas meshed, yet the ebb and flow and harmonious rhythms we found were refreshing and unique to any experience I’ve had previously. Thank you so much co-facilitators for making this a wonderful experience for me personally. I’m sorry to see this phase end.

And as much as you experimenters were gaining from our shared insights and tools, we behind the scenes were also learning and growing from each other and from you. I’ve asked the others to share some brief notes on what they will be taking away from this marvelous opportunity we’ve had.

WHAT THE 4 CO-LEADERS HAVE LEARNED

Experiment co-leader, Rodney Dietert

Experiment co-leader, Rodney Dietert

“Hi, This is Consciouseer Rodney. I wanted to share three things I learned during our 90-day, $3,000 Experiment. First of course, there was the power of the experiment itself. It had individuality as each person prepared a highly-personalized, transformational space. Second, there was the power of the group where many people joined into one experiment. Finally, there was the flexibility of the path, and that was the most surprising of all for me. We left things very open.

Things got so wild and powerful for us that, 2/3 of the way through, Janice and I increased our goal by 10 fold and still exceeded that before the end of the experiment. We reached our goal with much appreciation. But, what I never counted on was the path abundance took as it flowed in. Our joint experiment, January-March, has literally transformed my professional career. The past 90 days have been the most significant of my 38-year academic professorial career in terms of amazing, completely-unexpected opportunities. I did not put in for that in any direct sense; but it is a part of how the abundance showed up. I fully embrace this unexpected path with much gratitude. The abundance of the experiment came. And it came with career opportunities beyond my wildest dreams.”

Preparing to spill the beans, get it?

Me, Wendy, the day I spilled beans about the experiment.

“Hi, Consciouseer Wendy here. When Janice suggested we each comment on what we learned through the $3,000 Experiment, I wanted to write about the power of intention to impact our finances. But since this is about my personal learnings (and I’ve already learned that lesson), what I really discovered over these 3 months is how wonderful it is to co-create with others you respect and enjoy as much as I do Ken, Janice and Rodney.

I thoroughly enjoyed every moment behind the scenes and ‘on the page.’  Creating with them has made the $3,000 Experiment the easiest project I’ve ever done. And the best part is our collaboration will be ongoing because… we plan on turning the $3,000 Experiment into a book. (More news to follow at a later date.)

Ken $3000

Experiment co-leader Ken Graydon

And this from Consciouseer Ken: “I would echo how good it was to work in a team of “Consciouseers.” Wendy and I share in many team healing adventures and it was really good to be able to widen my horizons and collection of friends with this $3,000 Experiment collaboration.

We have shared so many basic ideas around intentions, gratitude, appreciation and support together with the magic of a ‘cooking station’ or ‘table of transformation’ – tools that we can apply to the conscious creation tasks that we take on from now. It has also raised a question for me about processes, which I really intend to explore, about creating and investigating our ‘future’ – suppose you could access the knowledge of your future career or partner, which share prices would go up, the ‘right’ location for your business – would that be useful? The thinking has begun.”

“And I, Consciouseer Janice, have personally been encouraged by seeing so many people step outside of their comfort zone to create positive outcomes for themselves. And because I was a co-facilitator, I felt the responsibility to really “walk my talk” at home, which I believe led to greater and greater inflows of opportunities and money. My heart just warmed to bursting to read the wonderful things that were happening for others. This Experiment will remain a truly sunny spot in my life forever.

And as the other Consciouseers have mentioned, to collaborate with three awesome, humble, fun-loving individuals in such an inventive, creative way has been a gift. I look forward to the continued collaboration as we pull the material together and create a marvelous book to bring the knowledge and energy of this $3,000 Experiment to all who are interested.”

RELEASING YOUR TRANSFORMATIONAL SPACE

And now as the Experiment is coming to a close, I’d like to offer some ideas about how to release your Transformational Space into the ethers. Know that there is no one right or wrong way to do this, but merely a suggestion that you can tweak and alter as it best suits you.

For me, the first order of business is a heartfelt prayer or meditation of gratitude for all the blessings the Transformational Space has brought. I’m most inclined to light a candle while facing the Transformational Space and review all the wonderful things that happened during the duration of its time with me.

Once I feel complete in my gratitude, I blow out the candle and remove the items from the space one-by-one carefully cleaning each one as I take it off and putting it back in its original “home.” Once the space is bare, I clean it as well. You might want to use lemon oil. Then I generally smudge the area with one or all of the following – white sage, cedar and/or pine.

Now the space is clear and clean. It is ready for a new project, though I have a tendency to allow the old energies to dissipate for a day or two before starting something new.

This has been an awesome moment in our history. Blessings to you all!

(And thanks for that, Janice…)

ACKNOWLEDGING WHAT THE EXPERIMENT HAS YIELDED TO YOU

(Wendy again now…)

When we decided to focus on money for this collaborative experiment, our intention was for each participant to realize $3000 of unexpected income. Our reasons were simple and straightforward.  We wanted a target that was common, desirable and measurable.

As Ken said then, “People will know when it has arrived.”  And Janice added, “The desire to feel secure around money, have enough to pay bills and give gifts is the sort of challenge that’s perfect for consciousness tools. It lends itself really well to tools that move the individual away from fear of not enough into the sense of neutrality and openness to multiple possibilities. When a person starts using the tools we’ll share in this experiment, they’ll create new internal and external spaces where shifts, transformations and miracles can happen.”

And now 3 months later, its time to take stock of the results the experiment yielded for you.  (so far.)

Did you realize $3000 of unexpected income as we’d intended?

Did the experiment yield different unexpected results for you? (As each of us co-leaders described here, here and here, we had results that were completely unexpected!)

You’ve put your time, energy and intention into it so be sure to complete the process today.   And since we’ve been right alongside you, cheering you along every step of the way, we want to know your results as well!

Let us know, in a comment below or a private email to wendy@wendydown.com. We also want to know what you are taking away – taking forward – into your life as a result of participating.

Thank you from the bottoms of our four happy hearts for having taken this journey with us.  And keep an eye our for further updates about this experiment, our $3000 Experiment Book, and whatever will be happening here in the Consciousness Playground next!

I didn’t get started until February, so I still have about 3 weeks to go. I was glad to read about acknowledging savings (such as the $120 per year I am now saving on cell phone bill), so that I wasn’t just looking for “cash” to appear. I received a rebate check, some refunds, and an awesome gift of a vehicle valued at over $16,000. I upgraded to the $30,000 Experiment and have reached $18,500 so far. I wonder how another $11,500 or more can show up by May 1?

Nancy April 11, 2015 at 3:36 pm

So can we do another “group experiment”??? I’m in!!!

T'ree April 11, 2015 at 3:44 am

I totaled $3100.00 around April 1.
I got really busy & overwhelmed and didn’t realized it ended on April 1 and actually am going to keep my cooking station up a while. I just don’t feel done – being 26,900.00 shy of 30k.

One thing of note is that when I was making that original list of possibilities, I kept focusing on somehow getting paid while not at work. The bulk of my 3k was first from inclement weather, where the office was closed but in the end they paid us anyway (we aren’t allowed to take unpaid time off.) Then I had an unprecedented 20+ hours off from feeling sick, which was not my intention as that wasn’t fun. But before that was quiet over I had a “freak accident” where a cat I had never seen before was in the apartment building and it attacked my arm. It was kind of nasty looking and I figured I’d end up on antibiotics, but I didn’t figure on my whole arm swelling up before I could make it to my doctor appt the next day!
Point being I missed almost a whole week of work because I couldn’t use my hand. This was also not perfect, as I was sick. But I was functional, I just couldn’t work. Then after all that paid time off (the snow was before my vacation and the sick-leave after), I felt MUCH better and restored – which I hadn’t quite felt since we opened >2 yrs ago, & probably wouldn’t have without so much down time. So that was worth more than 3k! Plus I didn’t feel guilty or anything since I really couldn’t work (I attended meetings but that was all) and they really were previous un-picturable ways to get paid while not at work – especially the crazy March snow storms.
I also found focusing on appreciating vs wanting challenging and found I had tons of guilt about having when others don’t/greed/obligation. I liked the vacuum imagery too but only visited it once. I think I’ll keep up the hands receiving as I leave my home from Ken.

Thank you Wendy and team Consciouseers! Wish I’d been a little closer in touch but loved the event all the same.

Katherine April 10, 2015 at 3:35 am

I did finally tally the odd dollars and cents and the total came to $3622.85. I didn’t really think the marks I was making on my paper would hit the $3000 threshold but it sure did. What fun this has been. I’m ready to play again only this time I know it’s not an experimen–it’s an experience. Thanks to all!!

Sue April 7, 2015 at 4:18 pm

Thank you for a wonderful experiment!
This has been eye-opening, calming, yet exciting, as the energy and intention flowed (and continues to flow)!
In the process, I’ve learned to be grateful for even the small $ coming in, how it grows, and noting abundance in attitude, energy, smiles, hugs as well! The cash was close to $5k, yet the abundance of everything else was (and IS) amazing!
I can’t just wash my hands of this camaraderie, intention, and I desire for more awareness and gratitude… I am ready for the next experiment or round!

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:31 pm

We feel the same, Sue!

Jody Gust April 5, 2015 at 6:37 pm

I exceeded the 3,000.00 goal simply by paying attention to savings and from small unexpected amounts of money that flowed in. The biggest impact I felt throughout this experiment was the flow of gratitude and appreciation that blossomed through the education and acknowledgement of the Universe’s divine attention. Thank you for this wonderful education and opportunity! I am ready for the next adventure!

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:33 pm

There’s no describing how life changes when we live it more deeply in gratitude, is there, Jody? Thanks for bringing your energy and interest to the experiment and for sharing them with us!

Zeta April 4, 2015 at 8:10 am

Dear Wendy,

I can’t thank you enough for settting up this experiment. I had been
looking for a project, of this kind, that I could share with a group such
as the one we have. When I found your site, many years ago, I knew it
was bingo..haha I must have known something!!….

Thanks for introducing us to your wonderful and willing friends….
Janice, Thanks for teaching us about cooking stations..a fascinating
concept..it was wonderful to see everyones photos..what creative
recipes they were. I was lucky to find father christmas for mine, in
the shape of a pepper shaker.
Rodney, congratulations re your incredible results….professional
career transformed..that’s huge!!
Ken, thankyou, and I’m waiting to see what comes out of your new
ideas.

I was able to go past the $3,000 because my husband was called up
for his triple bypass op and it was paid for by Public Health Dept.
Havent a precise figure but up to $55,000 I have read. We have,
ourselves, paid for two previous ops, so were most grateful this time.
Also I was able to stay at on site hospital accom for the week he was
there, saving $35 a night off a motel stay…and parking cost only
$7.00 for whole week! Lots of appreciation there. And, yes my
husband is doing really well.
There were other bits and pieces eg gifted movie tickets, taken to
dinner, produce from my garden, sale prices etc.

I am taking with me from our project that life is great, full of wonderful
people..who have curiosity and courage to explore their personal power
and trust in the support of our universe.

Thanks again, Wendy for being so bright and breezy and so enthusiastically
supportive of us all.

Zeta April 4, 2015 at 8:26 am

Forgot to say I am ready for the next adventure.

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:38 pm

Thank you for your kind words and generous spirit. Many blessings to you and your husband – may you discover that the magic is just getting on a roll for you both.

Lisa April 4, 2015 at 2:09 am

A funny thing happened to me… when this experiment started, I was excited but a little sceptical as well. Although I believe that good things flow, I have also believed that it’s through hard work that we ultimately succeed. I shared my reservations with Wendy, especially because I knew I’d be off work for at least 6 weeks during this experiment. I am self employed, earning only when I’m at work, and so I knew this would be a challenge! During this 3 month period, I worked a mere 3 1/2 weeks -can you say anxious!?! However -not only was I able to keep afloat with the bills, but I was able to continue to socialize with friends and family! Selfishly, I still wanted to “feel” the bills of $3000, and I kept feeling that it was possible, but that my timing was off. I was still trying to control it, rather than letting it happen. I finally “gave up” during the last week, figuring that it was too late, and that I had tried too hard; but then… the motorcycle I have been trying to sell since October, sold on Saturday March 28! And for just under $3000!
Today, while cleaning, I decided it was time to clean my cooking station, but when I took the items off the table, I had a strong sensation that it wasn’t over yet… needless to say, they’re back and I’m letting go!

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:44 pm

Wahoo, Lisa, how wonderful! I especially notice your comment about giving up… and THEN the big money event happened. Really, half the trick is learning to let go/give up. In fact, in The $3000 Experiment Book, we’ll probably want to address that more fully. It’s really what was behind Janice’s instructions to leave the experiment to the work of the Transformational Space. It’s what the 4 of us have developed great practice at. Identifying something we want, then almost immediately letting go of how or even if it will show up. That’s where the magic happens. And now that you’ve had this experience, you know exactly how it feels. Thanks for letting us know!

Sabrina April 2, 2015 at 6:09 pm

I decided to tweek the game and go for $40,000 and play till May 1, 2015

First day, I got unexpected $1,500.00. I laughed and credited the game.

Then I forgot I was playing the game, I got a call in late February, turns out with a few small changes on my home loan, I would have my house paid off 3 years earlier. I added it up, $38,000. My daughter heard the exchange and she looked at me in shock! Is it really that simple, she asked? I had made a sign and put on my refrigerator, it says ” Thank YOU Universe, $40,000. May 1, 2015″ She took my sign, and asked me…..is that all I have to do, print out a sign on computer and I can have whatever I want? I laughed, as I had forgotten I was playing a game!
She had been thinking her mom is a little odd and eccentric. I could see in her eyes, she is starting to understand the power of intentions and allowing the Universe to deliver magic!

Lots more dollars have been flowing, and will continue to flow, after all….my game has not completed yet. Smile!! Thank YOU!!!!

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:42 pm

I love it, Sabrina! What a great story. And how fortunate for your daughter to have you as her mother.

Cynthia Lee April 2, 2015 at 3:09 am

Well, exactly $9,000. flowed into our bank account. We have a consulting business, I do the book keeping. A company my husband has been working with was suppose to be paying him $1500. per month for his work. Business got very slow for the company and the checks rarely showed up. My husband talked with the owners in Dec when they asked to cut his pay in half and he reminded them they owed him 12 months back pay from the prior 2 years, it really was 15 months owed but my husband isn’t good about remembering things like that. Anyway, we agreed after the phone call we needed to just write it off and let it go. So, the first of Feb. they send a check for $3000., then another check for $3000. came the first of March and the end of March another check came for $3000. They have never sent more than $1500. per month no matter how far behind they were before and we really never thought we would get any of the money owed. I loved setting up the cooking station and enjoyed all of the lessons. Thanks for the opportunity to be a part of this experience. I really learned a lot about setting intent and letting go.

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:45 pm

Crazy! Just goes to show you, life will squeeze a wanted result into our lives through even the most unlikely of cracks. Love it.

Nancy April 1, 2015 at 11:27 pm

Cool stories! I had a couple hundred $$ of unexpected money come in right before the experiment even began. The BIG $$$ situation was my suddenly realizing how much equity we had in our house. After doing research we got a 2nd mortgage on our house, with 0 fees, saving $500.00 per month, and paying off some high interest/medical stuff. We have plenty of income now freed up for more retirement (what’s that?) savings, and do some other things. Ken also just lowered his fee for his class! Thanks Ken!!! Our total savings with the home loan (which will be paid in 10 years or less) will be about $60,000. BIG wow! It’s funny- I was shooting for a $30,000 experiment. Hubby also just called minutes ago- he got a raise today. His company loves him~~~ It’s all good! I’m going to do another experiment to set up a healing practice and/or change jobs…. Nancy

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:47 pm

Can you believe it, Nancy? What a great result. In the end, it didn’t matter one bit that you had a few ‘wobbles’ early on. Wahoo!

Denise VanBriggle April 1, 2015 at 10:30 pm

$20,687.03 to be exact

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:48 pm

Flipping fabulous to be exact.

Linda D April 1, 2015 at 7:21 pm

Wow. I have been overjoyed with all the growth and understanding of myself, energy and the feeling state, that has come to me through this experiment. I am declaring it open-ended!
I have been blessed with $4260 in Lottery prizes, and an additional $5000 saved in house-buying expenses as well as reduction in a house price of $21,000. (we are moving to Florida from Virginia, in June). One bill paid off in full brings an extra $251 per month, starting in May. Several other monthly expenses that added up to about $350 per month have also departed. But the Biggest Takeaways for me are (1.) get into the feeling place of how it would feel already so, and (2.) appreciate what-is, including the money I have just now. (and I have noticed that the “feeling-place” is the SAME, whether its money, or praise at work, or a desired item on mark-down, etc. its a feeling of delight, euphoria, harmony, empowerment, appreciation, gratitude, thankfulness, and love….expressing all of that and more beyond words to all the Counsciouseers and participants! xoxo)

Wendy Down April 7, 2015 at 8:51 pm

Holy Moly, Linda, that’s quite a haul. (If I ever buy a Lottery ticket, I want to buy one with you.) Thank you for sharing your take-aways too. As you know, they are like the keys to the kingdom. Appreciating you too 🙂

Paulette April 1, 2015 at 6:37 pm

I thought the experiment was over on March 1st and had thought I hadn’t made it . I was pleased with the learnings I had received though and was grateful for participating. Then a friend who is also involved in it told me that I still had a month so I could add my surprise $3,000.00 gain that I had received the day before from my investments.
I got my statement and I had made $3,000 in a month. I had never made that much before.
I was very surprised and excited. So I did make the $3,000 plus all the other little bits of money and free things that added up to several hundreds of dollars.
I am so much more conscious of my money and grateful for every little bit of kindness and gifts that come my way.
I wish it was going on again. I love the project.

Wendy Down April 1, 2015 at 6:43 pm

Ha! That’s great, Paulette. Your story demonstrates something I see so often: when we really give up on something, “oh well, it didn’t work for me” and forget about it (as Carol said below) is often when the magic happens. The trick is actually letting go. Thanks for being such a great example of that!

Kat April 1, 2015 at 6:14 pm

I not only met the $3,000 goal, I gained so much non-monetarily as well. The money came in spurts and squirts, which was a surprise. I hadn’t realized I had an expectation until the end result showed it to me! That is a big realization there, one I will be playing with as I go on.

Also, the experiment inspired me to take advantage of opportunities to move outside of my comfort zone as they arose. The results of the experiences around the stretching have been fabulous. Not all produced results I want to repeat, but they all taught me valuable lessons and some have offered me new paths to explore.

Thank you for the chance to play this game with you!

Wendy Down April 1, 2015 at 6:34 pm

Thank you for playing with us too, Kat! And for moving outside your comfort zone. Many blessings…

Carol April 1, 2015 at 6:06 pm

I received $3207.02 in the form of discounts, magical fixing of broken things, special pricing, items offered for sale by acquaintances, etc. for things I set the intention for but didn’t have to actively pursue, as they just showed up after I had forgotten about setting the intention. That seems to be the secret for me – I say to myself and the Universe, gee, I’d like to have …., and forget about it, and then it shows up. Letting go seems to create the magic. Also, this week, after being retired for 4 months I was offered several days of work in my old job to help out in my former department, and I haven’t even counted that unexpected income yet! Thank you Wendy, Janice, Rodney, and Ken!

Wendy Down April 1, 2015 at 6:32 pm

Very cool, Carol. And congrats on your ability to let go and forget! There’s magic in that, as you’ve said.

Neva April 1, 2015 at 5:55 pm

I wish I could say I met my goal. I did not. I recorded about 1/3 of the $3,000 goal. I honestly think I’d have made that with or without the experiment. I’m not saying this doesn’t work. I’m saying my patterns around money are so ingrained that the amount I make by effort is what ends up coming in. My efforts brought in a third of my goal for this experiment. If I had been able to let go of effort, I suspect I would be reporting the marvelous results others are writing about here.

Another of my goals was to receive more acting roles. I had absolutely no auditions until the very end of the experiment. I’ve had one, total, in the 3 months. Staring at that blank appointment book I designated for “Neva’s Acting Gigs” has been sobering.

I am so appreciative of the invitation and opportunity to participate in this experiment. I would be doing a disservice not to report accurately how it ended up for me.

Thanks again and I’m game for another round. Who knows, maybe I can loose the bonds of work=effort=money next time. At least I recognize it and that’s something.

Wendy Down April 1, 2015 at 6:31 pm

Yes, yes Neva – thank you for sharing your results honestly and for modelling to others that they too can report what they’ve experienced too. All results are welcomed and appreciated. And now that you’ve played the role of honest participant flawlessly, may you be blasted by a huge backlog of well-paying acting jobs!
