One REALLY Unexpected Way to Make Money!

by Wendy Down on January 9, 2015

Wendy's Transformational SpaceSo many folks taking The $3000 Experiment!

(If you’re new, read the lead-up here. To get experiment updates by email, sign up for the Consciousness Playground Newsletter, top right corner of this page.)

By now you’ve received instructions for creating your Transformational Space for the experiment. And we’ve talked about how to use Puppy Power (aka, listening to your heart), to know if your space is complete.

Today, I’ll share two things. My BIG share is an audio-recording I made which takes you beyond our limited perception of time to offer the notion that new money can show up for you, not in the future, but from the past. (Totally worked for me when I tried it myself!)

Normally I sell this recording in my Online Store, but during this experiment, its free for y’all.   That’s $14.95 you can add to the total you’re tracking for this experiment too.

Before I do that, my little share is a behind-the-scenes peek into my own Transformational Space.  Its not fancy, but it is special because, well, it sits on the window sill of a little crack house.

(See photo of me entering said house, above).

Here’s the deal. If you’ve been following the Consciousness Playground for awhile, you’ll know I love transforming physical spaces almost as much as I love transforming our ‘inner spaces’. (Besides being a Life Coach, I started studying interior design last year.  Wrote about it here.)

Wanting a new space to dramatically make over, I’ve been watching local real estate listings for a rundown house to transform.  I’ve viewed many, but none that made my heart leap a big ole ‘yes!’

The backyard of my little fixer-upper.

The backyard of my little fixer-upper.

Until, funny enough, the very day my Experiment Co-leaders and I agreed to do this $3000 Experiment. When I found the derelict house I’d been waiting for.

The bond between it and I was apparent from the moment we met online and I put in an offer immediately upon receiving the blessing, (and the reasonable query, “Are you sure…?”), from my ever-lovin’ husband, Dwayne.

(You can see the backyard, above, on purchase day.  Anyone need a fridge?)

After the deal was sealed, the real estate agent said that he’d received multiple inquiries about the sale price.  Apparently my rock-bottom purchase  made it the lowest priced house to sell in this area in years.

Ha!

The house is tiny (655 square feet) and a complete disaster in all the right ways. Heavy wet smoke stains cover every surface, recording its sordid past in a sticky, brown cloak.  A neighbour has told eye-opening tales…

Removing smoke-saturated wallpaper

I call it my little crack house.

The space is nothing but pure possibility wanting to be realized.  Being in it makes me very happy.

While seeking a location for my $3000 Experiment Transformational Space, my own home didn’t have the right nook.  Then last week, it became obvious that my Transformational Space belongs, not in my home or office, but, duh!, in the space I am actually transforming.  My little crack house.

My Transformational Space sits on the window ledge in my little 'crack house'

My Transformational Space sits on a window sill in my little crack house

The window sill you see in the photo, left, is the Transformational Space I’ve set up there. It is literally the only clean surface in that house so far.

(Note the super-soft jujubes in a hammered gold bowl, my Olivia the Pig journal, the green plant and the lacy new white blind.  And my ego would like you to know that I hung that blind myself.)

This clean 4-by-12 inch space could not be more out of place amidst the grime and decay everywhere else.  As it should be since this tiny space foreshadows what the house is becoming.  Not what it currently is.

In exactly that way, your Transformational Space represents what you are becoming in this experiment too!

Your space represents your un-realized potential… even amidst your current expectations, experiences and history regarding money.

It holds the vibe of what you-and-money are becoming.

Your Transformational Space feels different, right?   It feels like you… in the future. Which, (good news!) is a feeling you can practice and marinate in… now.

Its a feeling that is easy to access.  You do it by simply noticing how your Transformational Space feeeeeeels.

That simple realization may be all you need from here today.  If so, off you go!

But if you want to stew in a yummy money-related vibe a bit longer, here’s the BIG share I’ve got for you today.   It’s an audio-recording I made awhile ago called, “Want to Make More Money… Last Year?”

I made it at a time I was exploring novel ideas about the flexibility of time.  For example, we perceive time as moving forward, but quantum physics tells us time is not linear but circular. (Physicist Stephen Hawking’s book, “The Universe in a Nutshell” spells this out in pictures.)

To test the idea for myself, I decided to see if I could make more money, not in the future, but in the past.  And sure enough I got results that confirmed I could and did – for real!  I received news of an unexpected laaaarge sum of money I’d made…  without doing anything more for it.

The whole thing was so darn exciting I made an audio recording guiding others to do the same. As my gift to you,  here’s the recording for you to listen to and try for yourself.   You don’t need this recording for The $3000 Experiment to work for you, but if it seems fun and interesting, why not?  An added bonus is that it will likely draw you deep into your ‘heart space’, which Janice and Rodney talked about in our last post.

To use the recording, you’ll need a quiet hour in which you can put all your attention on it. (Note that you can skip the introduction that advises you to not share it  and excuse the slightly scratchy recording quality.)

Wendy: I just listened to the audio on changing how much money you made in the past.

Like all your audios, it was so powerful. Thank you.

I just wanted to share a couple of insights that came, which surprised me. When you were asking what kind of clothes the person who made more money last year would wear, I got an image of myself in these monochromatic, very colorful outfits, draped and comfortable and beautiful. It is NOT how I dress, ha. I’ve never dressed that way and yet, there it was. I was wearing flowing, monochromatic layers of soft, beautiful colors. The action I chose was to go shopping and find my first outfit for the new me. If I’m successful, I’ll post a before and after, ha.

The other thing that happened involved food. You asked what kind of food the new me would eat. I saw myself at a table and the food was what I can only call exotically festive. I mean, it was just outrageously presented in beautiful form. Again, not how I have been eating. I’m known to open a can or box and eat right from it. So… another action I plan to explore is creating festive looking food arrangements to eat.

These two very brief but very clear images of myself feel so nourishing.

Thank you!

Neva

ps just need to clarify for myself on the outfit I saw myself wearing. They were not monchromatic in the sense that they were layers of different shades of a single color. I meant each layer was one color. They were mixed in surprising ways and the overall sense was of comfort, flow, grace, ease and beauty. I looked online at outfits for a while afterwards but could not see the look that I saw in that split-second vision. I am excited to go into stores now and let that look come together! Thanks again!

Hi Wendy! I am just loving your articles, the information and this experiement. Thank you very much. I really love your writing style too! It’s so fun and I don’t know just very authentic, loved the comment: “And my ego would like you to know that I hung that blind myself.” I’m gonna steal that..”and my ego would like you to know…” haha, love it, it would apply to so much in life 🙂 (by the way, I found you through a facebook post by Karin Witzig Rozell) Thanks again!

After re-reading Rodney’s piece on “puppy power”, I connected it to the little stuffed dog I bought last month because it reminded me so much of my precious Maggi (Coton de Tulear) who passed in October after seventeen and a half years with me. I hug and talk to her daily and realized that she represents the ultimate abundance – love and connection – which is what I really want, though I will continue to appreciate and record each new addtition toward my $3000 goal.
I am so happy to be a part of this experiment as it is a great way to become aware of the many blessings that are more easily overlooked, plus I hope it will help me on my journey toward self love and feeling worthy, which must be lacking for me to be so resistant to most things financial.
I now have my little space – a table right next to the former location of Maggi’s bed, which I look toward often. She is sitting next to a basket that has a metal plate with “faith” carved into it. Seems appropriate. Thank you for this opportunity, and thanks to all those who commented and inspired me. 🙂

A beautiful testament to your relationship with Maggi, Dot. And yes, may the experiment bless you with an overflowing experience of love and connection too. Even across miles… and even between dimensions.

these ‘gold’bars are sold here as door-stoppers at the local shop for € 2,95 ( The Netherlands) ; They remember me of my abundance and now they are very practical in this very real ConsciousCreation ( the word experiment is just for future statistics 😉

Love those gold bars!

Beth January 12, 2015 at 7:57 pm

The other day I went to a meeting at which one of the attendees had a coffee mug that said “Puppy Power” with pictures of puppies all over it! Although I haven’t had any unexpected money show up yet, this felt like a forerunner of things soon to come!

I do have one question. Ever since I set up my transformational space for the $3000 Experiment, I’ve noticed that when I look at it, my attention is immediately drawn to a very significant project I am currently working on – developing a workshop to teach consciousness-shifting tools for attorneys (in the same spirit as what Rod and Janice have been doing for scientists). The space really seems to WANT to be for that purpose. Any insights/feedback as to whether or not I should create a separate one for the $3000 Experiment? Or just let the space serve both purposes, knowing that they are intertwined?

Janice January 13, 2015 at 12:06 am

Beth,
Don’t second guess whether the project is separate from the Experiment or part of it. Remember the dimensionality of the Cooking Station design. If you strongly feel led to include things and it feels like the project is part of it, include it. The beauty of this is it’s intuitively led. There is no right or wrong so long as you let it go and give it the time and space to work without micromanagement.

Beth January 13, 2015 at 4:04 pm

Thanks for your reply, Janice. I do feel strongly led to allow the space to expand into a broader purpose, and I totally get the dimensionality of the design. On the other hand, it’s my understanding that you often have separate cooking stations set up for different projects, so I thought it would be helpful to get some feedback on that. I’m going to allow my station to go where it wants, with the understanding that the $3000 Experiment is imbedded within it.

The other thing I’ve realized is that, with the presence of a very active and sometimes impulsive 8 year old boy in the house, I cannot be certain that the station will remain untouched for the duration. (Yesterday I found an Archie McPhee inflatable tongue on it.) So I’ve made a rule that any changes that may occur, even if unauthorized by me, are a fun and unpredictable aspect of its design, and will only enhance the station’s power. Even inflatable tongues. 🙂

I also want to thank you for sharing your video with us! Definitely enjoyed listening to it. This experiment has been a lot of fun, but I wanted to ask for a little clarification regarding setting up our intention transformational space & cooking station. Do they have to be in 2 separate locations?
After reading the directions from Jan. 1st I cleaned and cleared a wonderful intention space – added a journal, jars for housing gratitude and evidence of abundance – I also felt nudged to add a few items from around my house to make it feel right. After reading the Jan. 6th & 9th blogs I added a few more items that seemed to feel right to me – but I am not certain if these “second” items should be housed in a different physical space or if it was okay to place them in my original space? Thanks for your input.

Beth January 12, 2015 at 7:48 pm

Hi Christine – As I understand it, our transformational space is a type of “cooking station.” In other words, you don’t need to create two separate spaces for the experiment.

Janice January 13, 2015 at 12:04 am

Christine,
If you’re feeling drawn to add additional items to your cooking table, consider them holding space in different dimensions and add them. Remember the 3D Star Trek chess board analogy. I would just caution about continuing to place things. The idea is to get to a point where you feel the work is already DONE. Then walk away and let it sit. As my mom used to teach me when I was learning to bake a cake, if I kept opening the oven door, my cake would fall. I did, it did…lesson learned.

Renee January 12, 2015 at 12:28 am

The audio was Amazing! I found a hundred dollar bill the morning of the day I first learned of this playful experiment, but before I knew anything about it consciously. A message from the Universe about creating in no time. Thank you for gifting the audio to us, along with this experiment. I had tremendous fun creating my cooking station/transformational space. Found myself in an ocean theme with treasure chests…

Janice January 13, 2015 at 12:08 am

I particularly like the greens and blues and my eyes go straight to that gold oak leaf. Awesome!

Nancy January 10, 2015 at 4:16 pm

Good for you! Is this an actual cooking house? Just curious. In the U.S. they have be be de-contaminated by law before anyone can do anything in it. Ripped out down to the studs. Stay healthy!

Wendy Down January 12, 2015 at 1:31 am

Thanks, Nancy, for your concern. No, not a cooking house, apparently just sales…

Janice January 10, 2015 at 3:18 pm

Just thought I’d post a money in experience. Closing on my mom’s old house happened this week as her estate is being settled. I was expecting to pay $2000 in taxes given what taxes are in the area. But because the tax bill was dated Jan 1 and the deed was signed over to me on Jan 2, I’m grandfathered in on the Vet deduction and the Sr citizen deduction saving me….. $1400. Wow! The universe knows how to make me happy.

Louise January 9, 2015 at 7:46 pm

Thanks so much Wendy – am really looking forward to your audio and your little house looks so full of promise. I guess you could say that’s the leading ledge 🙂 ! And thanks everyone for all the brilliant & inspiring posts.
My space is in a corner near my piano keyboard where I write & my husband Allen is the other side of the wall in our home recording studio where he’s really enjoyed creating his own space. I have a picture of our dog as a smilingly asleep puppy, a gold bracelet, some £1 coins and then with following Janice’s recipe, I added some rose petals, a bowl of miniature fruit and a great picture of the Beatles. They were really my first connection, as a teenager to expanded Consciousness through Eastern ideas and their picture invites the flow of musically connected abundance our way within/alongside the experiment.
I did once get a totally unexpected tax return, not that big but a really nice surprise 🙂
