Ready for the Pain Experiment?

by Wendy Down on August 29, 2016

Oh hello.  Discovered Snapchat filters yet?

If not, they let you digitally reshape how you see and experience yourself in a fun and entertaining way.

Which is exactly what we’ll do with the subject of our next Consciousness Playground experiment – PAIN – when we launch the Pain Experiment here in the Consciousness Playground next week.  (Which we first talked about here.)

Over the 4 months of the experiment, we’ll share a variety of filters through which you’ll perceive pain differently than you’ve ever experienced it before.

You’ll learn to warp and bend what now seems fixed and ‘true’ about pain and feel it become flexible and malleable.

Best of all, you’ll find the exercises as engaging and playful as the Snapchat filters, above, are with my face.

For now, simply let the concepts  ‘playfulness’ and ‘pain’ sit alongside each other in your mind this week.  Let the paradox between them start disrupting old patterns and introduce new potentials for what’s possible for you.  Know good things lie ahead.

Also, spread the word of the experiment to someone who suffers from pain of any type.

This could be the best gift they ever receive from anyone.   And it will cost you and them nothing.

You’re a good candidate for the Pain Experiment if:

  • you want to have more control over pain and you want less of it.
  •  you’re willing to temporarily suspend what you believe to be true or ‘factual’ about pain.
  • You’re open to new interpretations, perceptions and experiences of pain.
  • you’ll take the time to fully immerse yourself in each component of the experiment. (Rather than just reading about each one or multi-tasking as you go.)
  • you’ll let us know how it’s going for you from time to time. (The best reward for our time and energy is hearing back from those who take part!)

If you want to take part, note these basic details.  The Pain Experiment will start Sept 6 and end Dec 20.  New content will be posted the first 3 Tuesdays of all four months.   That adds up to 12 separate pieces of new content.  As each new piece of content is released, you’ll receive an announcement if you’re signed up for the Consciousness Playground Newsletter. (Top right corner of this page.)

And you already heard me say it costs nothing.

The same 4 Consciousness Pioneers that led last year’s $3000 Experiment are spearheading this one. Australian healer, Ken Graydon, and I are lined up for the first several posts.  Later, acclaimed university professor, Rodney Dietert, and author/shaman, Janice Dietert, will weigh in.  (The Dietert’s are currently on tour with Rodney’s revolutionary new book!)

We are all bubbling over with anticipation of this experiment. Speaking for myself, I’ve recently embarked on a Ph.D. in Integrative Medicine and I’m eager to bring my latest insights and practices to this topic.

See you back here Sept 6 – our launch day.

Let us know: Why is this experiment timely for you and how do you feel about it?

And seriously, if you know anyone who experiences even sporadic pain who wants to harness their innate ability to shift it themselves, tell them about this experiment!

Hello Wendy and everyone.

I didn’t comment earlier as not sure that I qualified.
Then I noticed, upon second reading, you had
referred to “sporadic” pain…..well, yes, I definitely
will fit with the programme e.g. gardeners back for
one!
I have forwarded info to a couple of people and will
rope my husband in for the journey too

And it’s great to be back with the team again!

Regards, Zeta

Yay, Zeta! Welcome back to you. May what you learn here extend far beyond relief of any sporadic pain you feel too.

I’ve been dealing with TMJ problems for several years now, and know it is so much more than just physical. I’ve released many programs already, but this is one huge onion I’ve been peeling. Welcoming any and all healing that is coming my way with this experiment!

Thank you so much Wendy, Ken and others who are offering this!

Let’s fry that onion, girl!

Hi everyone, it’s so invigorating to read your comments and to share your intentions for growth, healing, learning and amazement. Can’t wait to start!

I’m ready. Chronic neck and back pain.

Please remember that pain is not an entity in its own right.
It is an indicator that something (else) needs attention.
Don’t forget that something else.

so true.

Timely for me in that I’m ready to be free of relflux/burning. I’m excited to have a group to keep me focused!

Charlie August 30, 2016 at 3:30 am

Hi Wendy
Count me in. As your know I have begun recently my own explorations and teaching of the possibilities in shifts of consciousness in any area of life and so, am excited to see how you wil approach shifting the consciousness regarding pain. Very timely for me . Always get inspired by your invitations into possibilities.
Love to you
Charlie

you’ll have significant impact on the lives you touch with your new work, Charlie.

I have recurring pain in my liver, gallbladder and spleen area. I also have recurring shortness of breath that seems to come from stomach and esophagus. Large intestine and small intestine seem swollen sometimes too. This all started about 3 years ago when I became ill from stress and worry. I am excited to be in the experiment and become someone who doesn’t need these recurring issues anymore! All with joy, grace and ease:))

After having severe nerve “pain” from a disc that’s pinching my spinal cord (and getting better), as well as other joint issues, I’m curious to see how this play will work! After this I’d be interested in re-shaping my future 🙂 Thanks, Wendy

Nikki August 29, 2016 at 11:37 pm

I will know the pain has changed when I don’t feel the acid and racing heart connected with it and the feeling of soreness in my body.
Do this seem reasonable for your experiment?
Thanks,
Nikki

Wendy Down September 1, 2016 at 2:53 pm

yes, indeed Nikki. Bring it!
